Prateek Suri is an entrepreneur, investor, author, and philanthropist, and the Chairman of Maser Group. Born and raised in Delhi, India, he studied at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, before graduating in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus.

His story is rooted in a simple belief: meaningful things can be built from humble beginnings. What started as an entrepreneurial ambition gradually took him beyond India and the UAE to Africa—a continent that would become central to both his professional journey and his outlook on business.

Today, as CEO of MDR Investments, Prateek focuses on large-capital ventures across emerging markets, with interests spanning infrastructure, artificial intelligence and data centres, mining, logistics, and real estate. His approach is centred on identifying opportunities where capital, technology, and physical infrastructure can come together to create lasting economic value.

Africa remains at the heart of this vision, while the UAE serves as an important bridge connecting his interests across regions. His focus has increasingly shifted towards sectors that can shape economies over decades rather than years, combining investment with the development of physical and digital infrastructure.

Prateek is also the author of Gateway to Africa, a book that draws upon his experiences navigating some of the continent’s most complex and promising markets. Going beyond business strategy, it shares lessons from setbacks, calculated risks, relationships, and the experiences that shaped his perspective as an entrepreneur.

Beyond business, philanthropy occupies a deeply personal place in his life. Through Maser Foundation, Prateek supports initiatives centred on child education, women empowerment, and healthcare, particularly across Africa.

His connection with giving began long before his success in business. As a child, he remembers his mother taking him to blind schools and charitable centres. At the time, he would sometimes wonder why she took him there and even hesitate to go. Only much later did he understand that those visits were quietly teaching him compassion, perspective, and the importance of looking beyond oneself.

Today, he describes his work through Maser Foundation as something that changed the meaning of life for him. For Prateek, achievement is no longer measured only by businesses built or investments made, but also by the ability to create opportunities, give back, and leave something meaningful behind.
